Kennedy attended her first day of preschool today. She was really quiet excited.
I started my day @ 5:30 with the usual mom stuff. I made breakfast and got all of her stuff together for her. I woke her up (which I never have to do) @ 6:45 and she said, "NO! I think I am still so tired!" I was just thinking is this my child....I gave her a few more minutes and some words or encouragement and she was up and excitedly awaiting the day to come.
She was totally cute at breakfast, she ate most of it and was so thankful that I made it. That was a sure sign for me that she was in fact very excited to go to school.
So we got dressed, brushed her teeth and got out the door.
It was a very big deal for Kennedy to wear her backpack and walk down the hall. We dropped her off in class and she was ready for us to go. She is so independent.
When I picked her up she had lots to tell me. She was very impressed with recess. She was too funny, she informed me that she does not like to talk to boys...only girls, and she couldn't wait to go back tomorrow. So all in all it was a good day.
For those of you who are wondering how I may be doing with all of this....it's a change. I have faith that it is a good one. I have prayed about it a lot and do have some worries, but the peace is there. I had a small moment where I felt a little teary, but I told myself, " I am doing my job, and she is ready for this." and you know what she really is. Isn't that the goal of parenting raising them to need you, but independent of you. I am proud of her, so I don't feel sad.
So anyway I am thrilled to share with you this new chapter in our lives here @ our house.

I just can't believe she is old enough for pre-school! I am so proud of her.
