Yesterday's Happenings, Staying Busy to Keep Peace.

Well we have had a very busy few days, although we have not even left the house. I am really starting to get stir crazy. I have been keeping sane by redoing my dear friends blog check it out www.narahlynn.blogspot.com . I think it turned out sooo cute. It's the first blog besides mine I have done.
Kennedy and I have played lots of games and done lots of projects and activities. She has her good moments and her very very not good moments. She is so crabby right now. The past two days she has really complained of pain. The doctor did say as she heals from the surgery it will be more painful. She has begun experiencing ear pain. That came on last night. Although it is really hard to deal with her attitude right now, I know she is healing properly and I can praise God for that.

Here we are playing Chutes and Ladders-she won, and was happy about it.
Yesterday we made Hand print Easter Lillies
This project went okay for the most part. Had she been in a better mood I think it could have gone much more smoothly.

She had a melt down or tow during making them :(, but I can't say I expected it to go better. She feels bad. I just want to give her quiet fun things to do as she heals.
Her mood turned around in a few minutes. She traced Emma's (our neighbor who I watch sometimes) hand. She liked helping Emma.
We(meaning me) got all the hands cut out and then we were ready to make the lilies.

She curled the petals, and did a great job
This is right before we added the leaves. I think it was a fun project to do. We didn't have all the right supplies, but we made the best of it and had a good time doing it.
Shortly after we finished the Easter Lilies, Kennedy got some surprise visitors. Her teachers from pre-school came to visit her. She was so so happy about this. She perked right up. They brought her cards from her class, balloons, hugs, and encouragement. It was so nice to have them stop by. I was a bit embarrassed cause I have an air bed in my living room, so my house was not in the most presentable condition...
These are the cards they brought. Each of her classmates made one for her. She was most excited about the one from her best little friend from school, Maggie. I am sad cause Maggie goes to Kindergarten next year and K, does not. So you know a mothers heart worries. But I pray they will still be able to stay friends. Maggie is such a sweet young lady with a darling family. Anyway, Maggie wrote the sweetest little card to K, it almost made me cry..(note..almost :) )
This was really uplifting and I was so blessed by these cards and I know Kennedy was too.
We also made cupcakes yesterday. I will never do these again. TOO MUCH EFFORT! I like to just bake and decorate simply. These cupcakes were definitely a project. But it did keep Kennedy busy and occupied.
So anyway that is what we have been up too.
I ask that you keep Kennedy in your prayers for continued healing and me for continued patience. Also Jeremy's grandpa had a knee replacement yesterday, please pray for his recovery as well. Thank you!!!!

  1. It looks like you are dealing with K's surgery and recovery beautifully. Days 6-11 were probably our hardest in healing. We had the ear pain too! Take comfort in knowing K is in His hands (and so are you!)

  3. The lilies turned out adorble what a great idea. I would not attempt those cupcakes, they looked very time-consuming. When Kennedy helped Emma she looked at peace, my father taught me that helping others always makes you feel better.
