Ponyville Has Arrived..and Some Easter Egg Coloring Photos

The Ponyville obsession started around Christmas when Kennedy announced that is all she wanted for Christmas, after Santa had made his list and checked it twice (*wink). Needless to say there was no ponyville under our Christmas tree. Kennedy was not very siked. Well she has not forgotten this toy and has continually said how much she wants it. Jeremy and I encouraged her to save her money and purchase it herself. A concept that she had very much trouble grasping. Fast forward to Kennedy's surgery, her Aunt Vicki asked her if there was anything she wanted, she promptly expressed her strong desire to have Ponyville. I told Vicki it was way to expensive and to not even consider it. She however did find a piece of the ponyville set (there are many little pieces to the village) and gifted her with that. It was adorable, it was a little hair salon. TOO CUTE!!! Kennedy loved loved loved it. She has been feeling pretty bad the past few days and the only thing that consoled her little mind was the thought or hope of ponyville. She received some money from both of her great grandparents and decided she finally had enough money for her toy. I was convinced otherwise. She pushed and to make her happy we went to count out the contents of her bank. This was a great activity to keep her busy and a great lesson on different types of money. So we counted and talked about money and saving. She learned about dollars, quarters, dimes, nickles and pennies...and never lost sight of the prize...PONYVILLE.

As it turned out when we were all down counting bills and change she had saved $65. She was siked to know that she had the funds to purchase her toy and wanted to leave to get it right away. Unfortunately not a store in our area had it in store. She had a very very rough night that night and was in so much pain. So I sent JT to Toys R Us to purchase Ponyville on his way home from work. I was not happy about this cause I wanted her to have the experience of going and actually exchanging her money and beginning to understand that process. She did however "buy" it from Jeremy. She was so so so happy to finally have it in hand.

She admired it in the box for about five minutes before she even asked to open it.

Once it was open her mood really perked up. As a mom who has taken care of her every whim after surgery I was just very happy to see happiness instead of agony on her face.
Here is a close up of how small the little figures are for ponyville. I have to say that they are adorable. Some of them you can change the hair and they all have little shoes and such. They are sorta like Polly Pocket for My Little Pony.
Here is the whole set that she bought. It amazes me, that she really wanted this and just did not waiver from wanting this set. Now she is already planning on expanding her pony community and saving for other pieces.

Grandma Becky visited yesterday and brought and Easter Gift for Kennedy. This basket included some ponyville items (Kennedy has told anyone who will listen about ponyville) Kennedy was very excited about all the ponies she received. She also got a hairstyling Rainbow Dash from Tina and Alan she is loving having me style its hair...she says she is not as good as me..
After the Easter basket we moved on to coloring Easter eggs. Kennedy had a great time and was very creative and fairly neat through the process. She was bummed when all the eggs were finally colored.

She spent about 8 minutes on this egg..getting it just right.

I am sad to report that Kennedy was feeling sick to her tummy this morning. I think it is due to not eating, and not feeling like swallowing but being hungry. We stayed home from church, which I am very bummed about. This is such an amazing day to celebrate, our Lord and Savior conquering death, so that we may have life. Selfishly I felt sad I didn't get to go celebrate with my church family. I was also bummed that we didn't do the Easter dress or the Easter egg hunt. I will have her wear her dress and take some photos in it when she is feeling better. it is an absolutely darling dress and she looks lovely in it. So stay tuned for those pics.
I hope you and your family were able to celebrate this day, of Easter and were blessed.
