Thankful Thursday and a photo recap of the last week...or so

On this Thankful Thursday I have a song that speaks to me on my heart.
There is this song By Your Side by Tenth Ave. North ( a cool Christian band) and the lyrics say...

And I'll be by your side
Wherever you fallIn
the dead of night
Whenever you call
And please don't fight
These hands that are holding you
My hands are holding you

I often think about how much I have fought God in times when things haven't been going how I thought they should, or when I just was to proud to admit I had not followed His path for my life. Looking back at those moments things got so desperately out of control. So out of control in fact that the only option I had was to give up fighting and just cry on his shoulder...This song reminds me how feeble I really am, and how blessed I am to be that way.
So I have so much to be thankful for regarding experience...

1. I am grateful for the way my Savior is shaping me and working with me. I no longer need to be the person I was..fighting at every step to feel safe. I can trust that God has my best interest covered. He is teaching me to think first and act and speak only if need be. He is also teaching me to lean on him for big and small things. Praise Him.

2. God has used my experience (the good and the not so good) and allowed me to have a ministry that I need those experiences for. My youth group is so dear to my heart and it amazes me how God has taken things in my life that I would rather not talk about, and made them useful and I have been able to use them for His Glory with these kids.

3. God has given me peace and a really encouraged attitude lately. I am always the one to say it will be alright for everyone else, but for myself I have always been quiet the pessimist (although I prefer the term realist) but with all that has been going on with Kennedy God has granted me peace. I feel hopeful about her future and am looking prayerfully forward to a healthier life for her. To be able to go and run and have be breath normally, for her to get a rested night of sleep....

Okay now on to our past week in the form of pictures. We have been really busy and having so much fun. We went to the park this week my with my niece and nephew and then Grace came home with us. I was able to get this cute picture of K and G. I think it really captures both of their personalities. ..as you can see Kennedy is the more devious and silly one.....

We had a nice visit with Tina and Alan. Shawanah and I looked at dogs on the Internet while everyone else watched Toy Story...but I loved this pic of Tina and K.

Kennedy's Grandpa and Grandma Bowman sent K a guitar. As you can see it is pink. She loves it...she thinks she is a rock star so now my house is pretty constantly filled with the sound of what she calls "songs"...More like noise if you ask me...but I have a feeling we will always differ on music.

We also got in some fun park time with Daddy. It was short cause it was very windy. Kennedy rode her scooter she got for Christmas and she had Jeremy helper with the pole. She loves to do that, but I am not strong enough to helper..so it is a Daddy thing, Oh and she is loving sliding down the slide face first..this is a trick she learned at school..oh this girl!!!

Anyway until tomorrow...
