Well not last Sunday but the Sun.day before I was all fired up to make holiday cookies. I had never made those fancy sugar cookies and I had always wanted to. So I embarked on the journey. I made the dough and popped it into the freezer during nap time. I also cut and baked some cookies while Kennedy was asleep. Our whole family joined in for decorating. Even JT! Kennedy and JT made lots of laughs and a big mess. I was a bit annoyed, but also happy to have made the memory. The cookies ended up tasting so yummy!!!!

On Monday after school Kennedy came home in the mood to draw and write. I was so proud to see her writing words we have been spelling. She is becoming very interested in words and what words around her say and how to spell words. i am so proud cause she can recognize all her letters both capital and lowercase, as well as write almost all of them. The letter S still gives her a bit of a fit..but she will get it :)
On a more random note..I had to take a photo of my refrigerator, because quite frankly it is always such a hot mess. It really gets to me sometimes, so I took a picture to remind myself that that messy fridge shows all the love and things I have to be proud of in life. So here is an ode to my constantly messy fridge.
Sadly on Tuesday Kennedy fell dreadfully ill. She continued to stay ill getting progressively worse through the week. I was really scared. I took her to the doctor on Friday and she had a virus as well as some side affects from her flu vaccination. She is still trying to ward off a cough almost two weeks after getting ill.
During all the illness Jeremy's Grandparents had a 60th wedding anniversary party. Tina was so helpful t us she came and watched Kennedy so I could accompany Jeremy to the party. Poor Kennedy was so missed. I hated not having her there and I hated not being with her even more. So we didn't stay at the party too awful long...But 60 years what an accomplishment. Grandma and Grandpa are just so awesome.
Well finally on Tuesday Kennedy was finally feeling up to going to school. So things started to get back to normal around here. Jt of course fell ill next. He continued to work...cause if he wasn't at work the place would fall down ;) I kept myself busy working on favors for Kennedy's class. I made these mini Frankensteins I saw in Scrapbooks Etc magazine. They were quick easy and I think they turned out adorable.
I also kept busy by finishing this outfit for Kennedy. I bought the pattern from http://www.youcanmakethis.com/ and I just love how her skirt turned out. It was so darling.
On Tuesday night we carved pumpkins. That is always fun and challenging for us. Our family has the tradition of picking a theme and carving intricate pumpkins. This years theme was Disney. In honor of our upcoming trip (just about a month away!!!!!)
<----This year Kennedy was able to particapate a lot more in the making of the pumpkin. She made Cinderella's Castle. I made Snow White and JT chose Captin Hook. He wanted to do Captn Jack Sparrow, but because of feeling ill he just didn't have then energy...so maybe next year.

Parents and family can go down on the floor and watch. I was so excited to see Kennedy. She was a little distracted by her entourage of spectators. Grandpa Kelly, Grandma Becky, Alan, Tina, Aunt Shawnah, Brock, Me and JT all were there to watch She did so well. She really has learned a lot in the last 9 weeks and is having so much fun.
<--doing flips on the bars
<-- Kennedy is beginning to conquer the rings. She was really scared of this at first and progressively has worked past that feat and is now eager to be doing the rings by herself.Well of course Friday brought Halloween. Kennedy was gifted her lovely fairy costume from her Great Grandmother Loretta. It was just stunning. We were so grateful for the unexpected gift. She looked so lovely in it. Kennedy had a great time wearing her costume. She wore it all day (She had to go to the doctor with me and everyone fussed over her..which she loved) She visited with family and friends and everyone made her feel so special and beautiful.
Okay now on to my busy life....tty soon.
